Normal support entails clothes, food, and housing. Conspicuous consumption includes tipping well, meeting friends for dinner and picking up the tab, dressing a little better, eating out at the best restaurants more often, etc.

If normal support (2xSL) cannot be paid, one must either borrow money, venture off to the front (where the army will give food, shelter and unequalled action adventure), or die of starvation & exposure.
ConCon is no longer "sticky" i.e. if not ordered, you will conspicuous consume.
The type of lodgings a character possesses will have an effect on society's opinion of him (SP bonus/penalty). All Parisians start out having 'taken rooms' in a district in Paris. To change accommodations, you note the type of housing your character wishes to have in the Premonthly phase. When you change housing, you must pay the initial cost as well as the monthly cost, then just the monthly cost thereafter. All costs are above and beyond the normal support your character pays (2xSL, or more if you ConCon).
For example, if AdA wishes to quit his Rooms and take a Fine House, he will pay 75 crowns (45 cr + 30 cr) the first month and 30 crowns every following month. Very poor characters may wish to take a loft: the first month will cost 0 crowns but most importantly normal support drops by one (1xSL instead of 2xSL).

We purposefully left the area of Paris in which you reside undetermined. Feel free to include the location of your lodgings in your press. You may keep it the same even when you change lodgings (better place in the same area), or else change it when you want to move around. A list of typical places and streets in Paris will be made available to all players shortly, but even then, feel free to include your own names and places.
Anyone may own a coach, but none are for hire. The SP award for owning and using a coach is a non-cumulative SP bonus. You order the use of your coach during the pre-monthly phase and will attend every party that month in your coach. This entitles you to the SP bonus listed (regardless of whether you attend 1 or 4 parties), but you will also have to pay the monthly cost. Unlike lodgings, the monthly cost for a coach is only paid when your character actually uses his coach. However, if you purchase then use the coach that same month, you must pay both the initial cost and the monthly cost. Lastly, if you own a coach and wish to purchase a different one, you will receive 1/5 the initial cost of the coach you own toward the purchase of a new one. Purchasing used coaches is trés gauche.

Any event at the Fleur requires arrival in some form of coach, or the character loses 1 SP. One simply does not arrive at Paris's finest establishment on foot. Travel to Versailles or a country estate will require the use of a coach as well.
All ladies courted by a gentleman using a coach look more favorably on such a suitor, as long as the coach is acceptable to their station (+1 to the courting roll if the mistress's SL is within the range given on the table above).
One of the principles of this version of the game is based on is that NPCs should be as much like PCs as possible. NPCs are thus named and will join regiments, buy ranks, apply for appointments, get titled and go up and down SLs. (As yet they don't do any weekly actions, nor are they likely to in the foreseeable future.) PCs always take priority over them, however.
NPCs can be influenced to do some things and the base die roll for this to happen is a 7 (so influence must be used). They may be asked to resign from their regiment, from their appointment or to volunteer for the front if they command a regiment or battalion/squadron. There is also a chance each month that an NPC will die, retire or leave Paris (i.e. disappear from the game).
